Washington, D.C.—Margulis Gelfand, a litigation boutique, is proud to announce the opening of its office in Washington, D.C.
“Even before opening a Washington, D.C. office, this law firm has represented numerous elected officials, political operatives, government employees, and corporate executives,” said firm co-founder Justin Gelfand, who previously served as a federal prosecutor based in Washington, D.C. “This is a natural next step to expand our footprint to the nation’s capital.”
The Washington, D.C. office—located at 1325 G St., N.W., Suite 500 in the City Center neighborhood—is steps from the White House, blocks from the U.S. Department of Justice, and walking distance to the U.S. Capitol.
Gregory Bailey, who will be managing the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, is a former federal prosecutor, graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, and former Naval Officer. In the 10 years prior to joining Margulis Gelfand, Bailey investigated and tried complex financial fraud cases as a federal prosecutor, successfully argued several federal appeals, and conducted federal regulatory investigations in the Division of Investigations in the Office of Enforcement at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
“We regularly represent clients in complex litigation cases throughout the United States,” said Bailey. “This new location will benefit our clients both inside and outside the beltway.”
In addition to two former federal tax prosecutors with extensive experience in financial fraud cases on both sides of the courtroom, the team at Margulis Gelfand includes former law enforcement, former federal judicial law clerks, and is comprised of seasoned litigators with more than 100 years of collective experience. The firm’s attorneys are battle-tested in the courtroom, having handled high-profile and low-profile jury trials in more than 10 federal districts throughout the country and in state courts; argued appeals in four federal courts of appeals and submitted written briefs at the U.S. Supreme Court; and argued in every Missouri appellate court including the Missouri Supreme Court.
